| Mark Woolley Gallery is in its 14th year as a leading contemporary art gallery in Portland, Oregon. Mark Woolley
is known for showing diverse and original work in a wide variety of media: painting, prints, sculpture, mixed media, photography, video/installation, ceramics and more.
We routinely review work during July and December of each year. If you are interested in submitting your portfolio for review, please adhere to the following guidelines:
****DO NOT submit original materials. While we will make an attempt at returning your DUPLICATE materials if a SASE is provided, we make no such guarantee. Otherwise, we will keep them on indefinite file for future consideration or pass them along to other potential venues.****
A typical submission will include the following items:
---Cover letter describing your particular interest in Mark Woolley Gallery and something about yourself and your art.
---10-20 duplicate labeled slides (title, media, dimensions, year); an annotated slide list can give additional information, such as suggested retail price including 50% gallery commission. Please keep in mind that we are looking for cohesive bodies of work rather than a survey of what you have done.
---resume, which includes contact info, exhibition history, awards, education, etc.
---artist statement (optional)
---prior press or showcards, catalogues (optional)
While we strongly prefer hard copies, a well-labeled CD submission with accompanying documentation is okay; we are MAC people if that makes a difference. An alternative approach would be to submit a physical portfolio and provide supplemental images online. Purely Web-based submissions with no supporting materials will not be considered.
